Thus, even on its exoteric level, the card speaks of definite accomplishment, the carrying out of business matters, and the assurance of success in material dealings.

The Number Six: Accomplishment and Solar Consciousness

In Tarot numerology, six signifies established accomplishment, the successful fruition of effort. But in Hermetic Qabalah, six goes further—it is the number of Tiphareth, the central Sephira upon the Tree of Life. Tiphareth is called Beauty, the radiating Sun of the Soul, where all paths converge in equilibrium. To enter Tiphareth is to enter the Christ-Buddha consciousness: the state where personal will aligns with the Higher Will, and where generosity becomes not merely a moral act but a solar radiance of the Soul itself.

Alchemical and Scientific Correspondence

Six is also the number of electrons in the carbon atom, the fundamental basis of all organic life. Six is the number of Tiphareth, the seat of the Solar Self, the radiance of the Christ-Buddha consciousness within the human microcosm. To enter into Six is to step into the beauty of alignment, where the fragmented personality is drawn toward union with its Soul.

Yet, inherent in this exalted state is the mystery of sacrifice. Six is also the number of the Dying Gods: Osiris, Christ, Dionysus—those who must undergo death in order to resurrect into greater power. In the Qabalistic journey, this means that the personality must undergo deconstruction and dissolution so that it may be reconstructed upon the firm foundation of the Soul’s light. This initiatory ordeal is not annihilation, but reorganization—a refinement that ensures true success can be carried forth.

The Sacrifice of Success

For the aspirant of the higher mind, the lesson of the Six is that accomplishment is not given freely—it requires the surrender of that which no longer serves the Solar harmony. Old habits, attachments, and illusions must fall away for Beauty to shine unobstructed. The scales in the RWS card may be read as symbols of this necessary equilibrium: before one may give freely, one must balance within.
