In the Gnostic Gospels of Didymos Judas Thomas, Jesus is quoted as saying, "If those who lead say to you, 'see, the kingdom is in the sky.' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, you will then become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons [suns] of the living father. The word Suns in brackets is of my own insertion because the original word is interpretable as Sun/Son, both having similar meanings in Semitic language and Qabalah, the fact that many Monks who interpreted the Gospels from the original Greek, were misogynistic, required them to use the word "Son" or suffer the wrath of the Patriarch. In all ways, you are a star/sun of the Divine Creative.

Being human, we are all inherently androgynous—Hermaphroditic in the truest esoteric sense—not in the physical, but in the archetypal structure of our psyche and soul. The left hemisphere of the brain bears the solar, active, “male” current of logic and projection, while the right hemisphere carries the lunar, receptive, “female” current of intuition and inner knowing. These two polarities are not meant to remain divided; their sacred union births the Higher Self, and this synthesis is achieved at Tiphareth—the Sephirah of Beauty and the radiant Sun of the Solar Logos upon the Tree of Life.

Tiphareth, numbered six, embodies the Christic or Buddhic state of consciousness—the harmonization of opposites into a singular, awakened presence. Here, the soul ascends beyond the divided dualities of “male” and “female,” “self” and “other,” into the radiant unity of the Solar Self. The “Son” referenced in mystical texts is not a figure of gender but a title for this integrated state of being—the Child of Light born from the marriage of Wisdom (Chokmah) and Understanding (Binah) above.

The Sun appears as a golden orb suspended on a chain, reminiscent of a pocket watch—an image suggesting the theft of time itself, or the manipulation of destiny. Meanwhile, the Moon is encircled and entrapped by a ring of swords, symbolizing the capture of intuition, dreams, and emotional truth within the confines of mental conflict or deception.

This card embodies archetypes of cunning, trickery, and stealth—not always malicious, but often secretive and motivated by desire or need.
